On August 12, 2022, COERR Mae Sarieng joined the ceremony organized on the occasion of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother’s Birthday Anniversary Celebration at Ban Mae La Oon and Ban Mae Lama Luang Temporary Shelter in Sob Moei District, Mae Hong Son Province.

   On this auspicious occasion, the refugee committee of these two temporary shelters organized several activities such as stage performance by various groups, sport competitions of volley ball and football, etc. All these activities were aimed to pay tribute to Her Majesty, the Queen Mother who has been kind to the refugees in Thailand. August 12th was also called the Karen Martyr’s Day, in which the Karen commemorated the sacrifice of the fallen heroes.

   There were officials and staff from Government and Non-Governmental Oraganizations and displaced persons particating in these events, i.e. 485 participants in Ban Mae La Oon and 374 in Ban Mae La Ma Luang Temporary Shelters.
